On February 24, 2026, Dominic Williams launched #Mission70: a campaign to reduce ICP inflation by at least 70% by end of 2026.
The first action: NNS Proposal #140538 - raise replicated subnet memory from $5/GB/year to $12.50/GB/year (2.5x).
II. Dom's Case: "This Is the Right Move"
The Core Argument
ICP memory is dynamic BFT state across 13 independent nodes. Comparing it to low-cost blob storage is apples vs oranges.
Dom argues many apps need only a few hundred MB of state. At these rates, the annual cost can be low while preserving high integrity.
AI-native development can bring millions of builders. Pricing should support sustainable economics as usage scales.
III. Snassy's Case: "The Platform Is Not Ready"
The Core Argument
Snassy says many products are still in market-discovery mode. Raising costs now risks pushing builders off-chain before PMF arrives.
Even with improved speed, UX has to match mainstream expectations to win users at scale.
Mass adoption usually follows affordable defaults first, premium assurances later.
